Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Samaj community Android application.

1. Information we collect

• Account: name, email address, password (stored by Firebase Authentication), mobile number.
• Family directory: family head and member details you submit (names, date of birth / age, gender, relation, education, work, address, nukh, optional photo/contact). Member names may be stored on the family record so other signed-in users can search the directory by a member’s name.
• Location: approximate or precise home coordinates only if you choose “Use my current location” or “Pick home on map” during family registration (to show the home on a map). Location is not used for advertising or background tracking.
• Notifications: if you allow notifications, a device push token (FCM) is stored so we can send account / family-status alerts. You can turn notifications off in Profile.
• Device/app: basic technical data needed to run Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, and Hosting.

2. How we use information

• Create and secure your account (including email and password-reset one-time codes).
• Maintain the community family directory for approved members and administrators.
• Allow Call / WhatsApp contact when a phone number is shown in the directory.
• Enable admins to review pending family registrations and notify users of approval / rejection.

3. Sharing

We do not sell personal data. Data is processed using Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Hosting) under Google’s terms. Approved family information is visible to signed-in community users of the app. Administrators can review pending submissions. We do not use advertising ID for ads.

4. Retention

Account and family data are kept while your account remains active and as needed for the community directory. Incomplete unverified signups may be removed automatically after a short period. You may request deletion by contacting the Samaj admin / developer below, or using the delete-account / delete-data links.

5. Security

We use Firebase Authentication and Firestore security rules. Email one-time codes are sent from our servers (Cloud Functions). Please keep your password private.

6. Children’s privacy

The app is intended for community adults registering family information. Guardians should supervise any use involving minors’ details. See also our Child Safety Standards.

7. Your choices

• You can decline location permission; you may still set home location by picking on the map if the form requires coordinates.
• You can disable notifications in Profile; we will stop using your push token for alerts when disabled.
• Request deletion of your data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
